This entirely in house design and build project called for the excavation and complete tanking of the basement, side return extension and full back to brick renovation of the client’s former childhood home. The brief was to create the “perfect little jewel of a house” to be available for friends and family to stay in when travelling through London and that is exactly what we delivered. This build was an absolute joy to work on and every single possible detail was considered. Cast iron railing panels were re-made from original moulds in the East End of London, Corston helped us match every hinge with every switch plate and pendant lights were handmade to order in Devon.

An unusual addition to the specification was the use of the incredibly high-quality Benjamin Moore paint in all bedrooms and snug, giving us a welcome introduction to an entirely new range of paint colours and finishes. The very latest technology also went into every single room with a multi room sound system, internet accessible fully zoned central heating, and a brand-new Daikin air conditioning system. And despite keeping nothing but the original bricks and chimney breasts, we still managed to ensure that this treasured childhood home kept its soul.
