Another elegant transformation of a Grade II listed property that was once lived in by Mary Poppins author Pamela Lyndon Travers. Several clumsy renovations in the 80’s and 90’s had resulted in the loss of quite a few of the original features, but that did not stop us turning this back into a fabulous Chelsea home. A badly installed roof terrace had also resulted in a serious damp problem which was remedied with a multi-story breathable tanking covering the entire inside of the front façade. This was carried into the basement as well as multiple vaults under the pavement providing a utility room and additional storage.
The very latest home automation technology was required with the brief that it be highly functional whilst also extremely discreet. We managed to shrink the server room and keep the controls of the house well-hidden yet instantly useable. The beautiful Silvan timber flooring was specially made in 12-meter lengths to ensure not one single joint was staggered whilst custom made cabinetry from our West London workshop can be found throughout. Another fabulous Roundhouse kitchen was fitted in the lower ground floor and of course our favourite finishing touch was the specially commissioned wine cellar from Cellar Maison. Eagle eyed wine lovers will know just why Andrew and his team put so much effort into creating this.
